Edward Lampert is the founder and chairman of ESL Investments and the chairman of Kmart Holding Corporation.
He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Yale University (summa cum laude, 1984) He worked for Goldman Sachs for an internship in July 1984, and later in the risk arbitrage department from March 1985 to February 1988. He left the bank to form ESL Investments.
He is the chairman and chief executive officer of ESL Investments, Inc., based in Greenwich, Connecticut, which he founded in April 1988. He is a director of AutoNation, Inc. and AutoZone, Inc.
